Selecting Small Business Web Design Companies in 2017

Small Business Web Design Companies and the customized Design, Marketing & Optimization packages they offer is an attraction for Startups and at times for Multinationals too. All these small companies have their own strengths. While a Graphic Design Company with constituting of Creatives may be exceptional in Logo Design and Branding, a web design company with good graphic designers team may be good at Photoshop based Website Layouts which is the base of a new Website.

While MAKING a website is a one time thing, except for occasional maintenance schedules, marketing your business is a long term goal. To have the pages indexed and searchable in the search engines you will want to have the basic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) done. Generally companies with Search Engine Optimization as their core expertise are able to do minor changes i.e small maintenance work provided the task is not creatively challenging. For creative change to your business website it is advisable to go back to the original designers and or developers.

Small business web design companies with MARKETING skills come in picture once we have the website 100% working and basic SEO done. Marketing and SEO are two things that and Continuous and long term goals for your business.

If I were starting a business Website, I would get related tasks accomplished in following order.

  1. Logo Designer, get branding materials too done by them.
  2. Followed by A Web Design Company specializing in graphics to do the website layouts, wire-frames or initial mockups.
  3. And then I will go to a SEO company for CONTINUOUS work that can initially optimize your website for important keywords in Search Engines. let it be a TEST for them to help you rank for at-least a few important keywords. Kindly note that ranking your business or your registered domain name as keyword or your registered company is not a big deal and should not be paid for.
  4. Marketing your website is an IDEA extensive thing and needs most of all resources, time and money. So I will search for the best marketers for my website or business. Not to say it is a continuous process. An appropriately chosen marketing company can have multiple marketing expertise like –
    • Facebook Marketing,
    • Pay Per Click Marketing (Google, Bing etc),
    • Email Marketing,
    • SMS Marketing,
    • Call Center Lead Generation,
    • online and Offline Media Advertising,
    • Paid or Free Directory Listing (you do not need to list your website in all business directories but a few free and paid directories have good conversions in most of the industries. A good marketing company knows which 3 or 4 they need to get listed in ).

However, if I wanted to save some time & had to go to one Web Design company I would probably go to Denver Web Design as I have found them to be more or less good in all the facets of small online business website mentioned above.

How to Rent a Luxury Car for Vacations

exotic Car Rentals

You’ve booked a full service hotel and resort in some exotic location and now you’re ready to look into some vehicle options. While most of the time, vehicle rentals seem simple, there are many universal rules and regulations that apply. Before booking an exotic car rental in Los Angeles, or some other vacation hotspot, read on for important rental tips.

Which Agency Should You Choose?

While some of the biggest names in the car rental industry have a plethora of basic sedan and SUV rentals, if you’re looking for something a little more exciting, a boutique car rental will have a better selection. These smaller agencies usually keep their fleets in top condition and are always changing out their cars for the newest version, with top of the line amenities. It’s not unusual to see bespoke Rolls Royce Ghosts, newest model year Lamborghini Huracans, or elusive models of the McLaren 675LT at these exclusive rental agencies.

How Old Do You Have to Be?

In most areas, the age minimum for renting a vehicle is 18. Unfortunately, until you hit age 25, most rental agencies consider you a risky driver and will charge additional surcharges or insurance fees. Once you turn 25 though, you only have to pay the regular rates. Some smaller rental agencies will also make exceptions if you can prove that you have a great driving record, or if your own personal insurance covers you while driving other cars.

What Do You Need to Know About Insurance?

Insurance at rental agencies, especially on luxury vehicles, can be very confusing. There are two main types of coverage: primary and secondary. Primary coverage is always covering you, while with secondary coverage you would need to file a claim with your personal car insurance company before it is activated.

Collision Waiver Damage is the technical name for the primary insurance you want when renting a car, but you don’t need to get it from them; you can get it through other means — like your credit card company. Check your card’s website for any rental insurance benefits they may offer.

What if You’re Renting Internationally?

If you plan on traveling outside of the United States, you may have to apply for an International Driving Permit. Most European countries recognize American driver’s licenses as valid, but some — like Germany or Spain — require an IDP. You can apply for an IDP with the American consulate and you’ll get a passport-like booklet that translates your American driver’s license into over 150 different languages. You must be over 18 to apply for this type of permit and there is usually a $15 fee as well.

International rentals also have additional rules for insurance coverage. You often need to prove you have coverage internationally, and if you don’t, you may end up paying hundreds in extra insurance fees. Talk to your insurance company before you travel and learn about any options they have for overseas travel.

Before You Drive the Car Off the Lot

Before getting into your rental and taking off, you should always inspect the vehicle for previous damage. While many rental agencies give you a form to mark any scratches or dents that were already there, some may need prompting before they give you the correct paperwork.

Marking all the previously damaged spots on the car is for your own protection and will prevent rental agencies from charging you for damage you didn’t cause.

What to do When You Return the Vehicle

When you finally return your vehicle, it’s best to bring it back with the same amount of gas it had when you first got it, otherwise, the rental agency will fill up on their own and charge you an extra fee. If you got the car with the tank half full, that’s what you’re responsible for. If it was completely full, fill up before you get close to the airport, as prices are often much higher there.

Right before you leave the car with the rental agency, you may also want to do a final sweep to ensure you haven’t left anything behind. It won’t be good for anybody if you arrive home only to discover you left your apartment keys on the floor of the rental vehicle!

Pay Attention to the Fine Print

One of the biggest ways renting a luxury vehicle differs from renting a regular sedan is in the fine print. Often, there is a maximum mile cap per day, as well as a fee for every mile you go over the limit. Since these cars are more pricy, rental agencies are much more likely to offer extra miles or other discounts the longer your rent the vehicle for.

Always read the fine print to make sure you’re complying with any particulars that apply to the vehicle you may be driving.

Rev Your Engines

Luxury Car Rental
Going on a luxury vacation shouldn’t end with your hotel — make sure you’re getting the most out of every minute with an exotic vehicle for all your transit needs. There’s no reason to drive around cramped and uncomfortable when a Mercedes-Benz, Maserati, Porsche, or Range Rover is right at your fingertips!

The Advantages Of Java for Design

Learning to code in a new language, on a new platform, involves a tremendous investment of time and effort. Is learning Java worth it? Below are some of the best reasons to use Java.

1) Write Once, Run Anywhere

This maxim – “write once, run anywhere” – is by design the heart and soul of the Java platform. The benefits this has to offer should be pretty easy to grasp. Cross-platform compatibility is the promise at the center of Java. Write one application that works in Java and you can use it in endless different environments.

It certainly helps that Java platform support is becoming nearly universal in the modern computing ecosystem. Those few operating systems that don’t already support Java are making strides to integrate it seamlessly. Java is a core component of all popular web browsers, which gives it a global reach anywhere the internet is used. Native Java support is even being incorporated into “smart” devices like smart TVs, set-top boxes, cell phones, and tablets.

2) Security

Java also delivers robust security features that every programmer should find useful. Security-friendly architecture is built into both the language and the platform from the ground up. Java allows the end user to download code from any online connection and use it only within a secure environment where the untrusted code cannot do any damage. Viruses, file writing, and all sorts of malicious behavior cannot make the jump from Java to the hardware running it. This is a noteworthy security feature which separates Java from most – if not all – of its competitors.

In the Java 2 Platform, security is an even higher priority. Java 2 provides more extensive and configurable security restrictions that function on more than just applets. The Java 1.2 update allows users to set permissions that will protect a host system from unintended behavior in any code module – applets, servlets, full Java applications, or JavaBeans components.

The security features of Java (both the language and the platform) have benefitted from concerted scrutiny from a global community of security professionals. Bugs which negatively impact the security of Java are promptly identified and patched. At this point, security risks in Java are big news simply because of how rare they have become. Though Java, like any environment, cannot promise total security, it comes closer to that ideal goal than virtually any other platform. Extensive use in countless different contexts has proved that Java is more than secure enough for reliable, day-to-day use.

3) Network-Centric Programming

Sun Microsystems was always dedicated to prioritizing the network over the individual computer, and that focus on networking is readily apparent in the structure of Java.

The entire platform is built to live in a network-centric environment. That means programmers find it easier than ever before to take advantage of networked resources and build applications that run flawlessly in multi-tiered or client/server-based models. Now that this sort of “always on” network focus is becoming the rule rather than the exception, Java programmers enjoy a significant advantage over those using less network-friendly languages.

4) Programs That Expand, Change, And Grow

Java is designed to be both extensible and dynamic. Its code falls into object-oriented families called classes. Classes are stored separately and the Java interpreter calls on each class only when it is required. Applications assess their class needs while running and can load or discard classes as necessary. This makes it easy to extend new functionality as required by simply loading new classes on the fly.

Thanks to the network-centric principles already discussed, Java applications can perform this dynamic extension using remote class resources linked through a network. This makes applications into agile collections of interlinked components rather than monolithic code blocks. When taken to its logical conclusion, this new design philosophy introduces a truly revolutionary new model of design and development for your applications.

5) Global Compatibility

Another wise ground-up feature that gives Java an advantage is a day-one interest in internationalization. International considerations are fundamental to Java, and the necessary tools for it are built into the core feature set instead of being bolted on afterward.

Many extant programming languages stick with 8-bit characters that have room only for English and similar European languages. Java works from the start with 16-bit Unicode characters, an architecture with space for phonetic alphabets and character sets from all over the globe. Java’s internationalization-friendly features extend beyond low-level considerations like ample character representation. There are useful tools for internationalization occurring throughout the platform, making Java the ideal choice for projects with a global perspective.

6) Performance

As described earlier, Java programs do not run in machine language. They are instead compiled into an intermediate format called byte codes. These instructions are fed into the Java Virtual Machine to execute a program. While this puts Java at a slight disadvantage to machine-language programs like those written in C or C++, it makes it significantly faster than languages which live in a purely interpreted space. Note that not every part of the Java platform uses byte codes. Computationally-complex tasks on the Java platform are broken down into native machine code for efficiency. String manipulation is a perfect example.

In its earliest releases, Java had significant performance problems. The Java VM has improved its speed benchmarks with each new release. There have been significant efforts in many areas to optimize and tune the Java VM. There are even common implementations which use a just-in-time compiler to allow for seamless transition between byte codes and machine language. With a strong JIT compiler, a tuned Java program can deliver execution speed comparable to the performance of C and C++ applications.

At one time, performance was a significant sticking point that kept hesitant programmers from adopting Java. The improvements that have been made on the road to Java 1.2 have made most performance concerns a thing of the past. Today, the blend of performance and portability make Java a clear winner with unique advantages that cannot be captured using any other language.

7) Efficiency And Speed

Possibly the best reason to use Java is that it is programmer-friendly. It offers brilliant APIs and potent elegance. Programmers that take the time to learn Java are regularly impressed by how quickly and easily it delivers the results they’re looking for. Studies have verified that Java improves programmer efficiency. Programmers complete projects faster and deliver better code when they use Java. That translates into shorter development cycles and fewer bugs.

If you have more need to be convinced Capita IT Resourcing has plenty to say on Java related matters.

Five of the Best WordPress Plugins Every SEO Needs to Know About

When you’re building a website using WordPress, whether you’re a newbie or an experienced hand, you need to be paying attention to SEO (search engine optimisation).

Search engines are one of the biggest drivers of traffic to websites, with billions of people using them every day, but the majority of those users will only click on one of the top five or ten results they see.

We spoke to digital agency Liquid Bubble, who said: “SEO can often be misunderstood as something of a dark art, but it’s actually a crucial aspect of any online business’s marketing, and can even have a bigger return on investment than conventional marketing such as advertising.”

This is why SEO is so important, and we’re going to take a look at five of the best plugins which will help to improve yours and hopefully bring you more traffic.

Broken Link Checker

It’s essential that your site doesn’t have any broken links. Not only is this one of the worst things for user experience, but it’ll also have a negative effect on your SEO.

It’s always a good idea to check for broken links from time to time, and this plugin is an easy way to do, and it’s free to download too.

If you come across any broken links, you can simply fix them without even editing the post.

While it’s a great tool, and totally free too, bear in mind that it may slow down your server, and some have even banned it.

RelNoFollow Checkbox

Linking out to another site gives some authority to that link and enhances their SEO, but if you don’t wish to do this, you can choose to make the link a ‘nofollow’ link.

The RelNoFollow checkbox plugin displays a checkbox when you’re about to insert a link into your WordPress post, giving you the option to simply and easily make a link a nofollow, simply by ticking a box.

Yoast SEO

One of the most popular plugins around, Yoast is a full solution for all of your site’s SEO, allowing you to add SEO titles, meta descriptions and meta keywords to each post and page.

It also allows for custom titles, archives, category and tag pages and many other features too, far too many to list here!

W3 Total Cache

The loading speed of your site is another important consideration for SEO, and the quicker your site loads for users, the higher Google will rank it.

The W3 Total Cache plugin allows you to serve compressed and cached versions of files to your users, meaning a lower loading time and less strain on your server too.

All in One SEO Pack

While we did say that Yoast is the most popular of the SEO plugins, there is a good alternative in All in One SEO.

It’s a great solution for newbies as you don’t really need any previous SEO experience, allowing you take as much or as little control as you want.

Features include XML Sitemap and Google Analytics support, automatic title optimisation, automatic meta tag generation and duplicate content detection.

The Keys To A Successful Mobile Billboard Campaign

As the summer months approach, you need to start getting your mobile campaign into full gear. As people will be out on the streets, this is the best time to start targeting your market. While you can always place a sign and hope that it works, there are more effective strategies that you should consider.

There are also a number of tricks that you can use to enhance the way that your message is received. You need to ensure that you know what is going on and how people are interacting with your signs. There are some tips that you should look at which will help you optimized your mobile sign campaigns.

Always Have A Goal In Mind

There are different goals that you need to have in mind and one of them should be branding. This is when you want people to see your logo and message to increase their awareness of your business. You will not be worried about the final result and the key for this goal is exposure. The primary objective will be to get your message to as many people as possible.

A call to action is another goal where you want to create a certain reaction to your advert. Your call could be something direct such as stating that people need to call today or go to a website. One of the primary benefits of a call to action in your advert is that you will see the results immediately. When using a call to action, you need to ensure that the proper tools and design have been implemented to maximize the efficiency of the message and that you are not shooting in the dark. One of the advantages of more modern signage such as digital OOH screens is that they allow people to gather far greater amounts of data.

Use Phone Tracking

Analytic data is important and it has come a long way over the years to provide more detailed and accurate information. It is now possible to see what is happening with your campaigns instantly and clearly. Phone tracking is very important if you have a phone call to action campaign, but you should also track the landing pages of your website to determine what has happened.

With phone tracking, you will be able to see where each call will be coming from. If you have 3 different signs for your campaign, you should have 3 different tracking numbers to allow you to track each board’s efficiency. Phone tracking allows you to determine which locations work best, which message you should use and your phone conversions rates. You will also be able to have all the calls recorded to check quality control which is important for all businesses.

When looking at your phone statistics, there are certain key points that you should be focusing on. The first is whether or not any calls were missed. You will see a decrease in your close rates when you have to call a customer back instead of taking the call immediately.

You should also look at what time the calls generally come in. This will help you determine when you need more people on the sales lines. You will also be able to free up staff at certain times if you can determine when peak call times will be.

It is also important that you determine which signs are your top performers. You will be able to use this information to test different signs and locations. When you pinpoint what is working for your campaign, you should stick with it and adjust your other campaigns to suit.

Know Your Statistics

There are some key statistics that you need to know about when it comes to marketing campaigns. While each campaign is different, you need to know what you should be keeping your eye on. The exact statistics that you need to focus on will vary depending on your goals, but certain ones need to be considered at all times.

The cost per lead is important as you need to know how much money you are going to be spending on each lead your business gets. If you are working with phone calls, you have to determine the cost of each call to you.

You also need to look at the lead to sale close ration. This will tell you how many leads you have to generate before you are able to make a sale. You should also consider what the sales averages you are expecting and whether this is realistic.

The return on investment is the last statistic that you have to keep your eye on. If you are not determining your ROI, you are not going to be managing your marketing campaign effectively.

Having The Right Colors

Having clear fonts, the proper colors and the correctly sized message on your billboard, screen or hoarding panel can make a lot of difference to your campaign. The colors that you use can affect the way that people view your message on a conscious and sub-conscious level. The Psychology of Colors is something that you need to learn about and implement in your marketing. If you want to elicit a certain response from people, you need to use the colors that match this.

Have An Immediate Follow up

Having your campaign rolling is only the first step in marketing. If you start to see lead coming through, you need to ensure that you respond to them immediately. There are certain steps that you have to take to ensure that this always happens.

The first is to ensure that calls never go to voice mail. If you are unable to support the number of calls coming in, you need to use your phone statistics to determine peak times and increase staff levels. If a customer does have to leave a voice mail, you need to call them back immediately. There are several voice mail systems that you can use which will email the messages to you and you can get a head start on the calls.

Online leads and submission forms are also vital to the success of your campaign. You need to maximize your response to these to increase the sales from your website. Responding to the form submissions quickly will maximize your customer experience.
