Are you a Graphic Designer trying to get your first logo approved at Graphicriver?

If you are a Designer and not at Graphicriver yet, I bet you are missing a great resource. Signup Now and Become a Graphicriver Author.

Here are Things to keep in mind as you design the logo:

1. The logos need be clean yet magnificient, not obsene as graphicriver tends to approve clean designs only.

2. Search sufficiently for fonts and for the text part use a font only. You can have Photoshop effects on the font as long as font can be edited easily by the logo buyer. (no vectors for font please)

3. When you draw the sybmols do not use one that is twice as long. a logo symbol longer than it is wide is hard to use.

4. Make sure all details are clear, hazy, blurr or darkness at the corners, edges may be something graphicriver or rather anyone who judges logo quality does not like.

Want To Improve Your Website? Use These 16 Tips!

A better website is only 16 tips away – take a look at our piece below and learn how to improve yours.

1) Start over from scratch:

Even as the first tip, this one is not enthusiastically recommended, because it can eat up a ton of your time, resources, money, and energy. However, if your website is really old, then a complete reboot with modern technology might prove a wise choice, rather than slapping patches on what’s already there. Do a pencil sketch of what you hope to have and then get together the right team to get it done.

2) Bring in a professional:

You might be planning on doing all your web work on your own or in-house. However, sometimes paying for a third-party professional with experience such as www.agencyinc.co.uk can save you a lot of time. Their expertise and ideas can really get a project going.

3) Identify the main purpose of your site:

Why is your website even up in the first place? What are you hoping to accomplish? Once you can answer both those questions, then you can do what it takes to make your website accomplish its purpose: delete pages that don’t help, but add ones that do. Restructure the whole site if you have to, with a brand new landing page and more. Your goal has to be your top priority, and your whole team needs to know what it is so they can assist you.

4) Eliminate distractions:

Things like splash pages and music are not as fun online as they used to be. Many website visitors will even say they were never that fun to start with, so if your website has a splash page of a beach scene that covers up the answers and information they are seeking, or they have to listen to your site playing Elvis, you need to cut it all out. Visitors hate elements like that. They come to websites for specific purposes, and they want to get them done as soon as they can. Deliver what they need promptly.

5) Do use bold and big images though:

It’s a well-known cliche that pictures are worth a thousand words, and right now, big and bold images are hot trend in web design. If you have to skip the beach splash and Elvis music, you can at least use large, vibrant pictures to help sell your content to the reader even before they start going over the text. Local area shots, recent projects, and images of your team doing their thing are all great choices.

6) Consolidate menus:

If there’s ten items under just one single heading of your navigation bar, then it’s time to clean house. Cleaner and simpler navigation makes it easier for website visitors to find things, and that means they have a more positive experience with your business. The less they hit the back button looking for things in the wrong place, the faster you can satisfy their needs.

7) Stay in tune with business branding:

If your company recently updated its logo or even changed its primary colors, then the website needs to reflect this. Your customers should see parallels between their brick and mortar time in stores or offices and their time online at your site. Building brand awareness also helps your customers and prospects have better recognition of your business when they are away from home or telling others about you.

8) Use an About Us page to humanize your business:

As much as you want to brand your website in sync with your brick and mortar locations, those at least have people in them. There’s even a human element to phone lines and to some degree emails. Websites are static and cold, so have an About Us page to let website visitors know who you are personally, or who your team members are. Professional bios and resumes are useful to a degree, but humanize it all with family life, recreational hobbies, and the like. Show people that you are also people.

9) Humanize the site further with customer testimonials:

Your existing set of customers are a big asset to your business since they can provide the rest of the world actual case studies as to what your business does for people, be it save time, make more money, solve a problem, etc. Talk to your very best clients and ask them if they’ll do testimonials for you. If you really want to nail this, have the testimonials written out already so all they have to do is approve the content.

10) Throw in industry resources:

While the two previous tips were about human elements, don’t ignore your sector of the economy. Make your website look authoritative or like a major player through industry resources. Show prospects your business knows what it is talking about by using white papers, surveys, reports, and helpful links. Write your own or hire freelancers to create content for you.

11) Be sure your site is mobile-friendly:

Mobile is where the growth is right now. Over half of consumers own and use a smartphone, so your newest business is likely coming from mobile devices. Still, they can have a hard time getting around your site if it is only optimized for desktops. There’s a plethora of affordable tools you can use to recreate mobile sites from your existing one. Try those out or get a professional designer to make your website mobile-user-friendly.

12) Let things be sociable:

If your business has yet to embrace social media, you need to get on the bus finally. Start community building with customers and visitors, and have the social media plug-ins on your primary content pages so that people can share what you have to offer. Also get accounts going on Twitter and Facebook so that you can start building up your brand awareness and even your link profile. Also get to know your customers so you can learn where and how to grow your business.

13) Use directions widgets:

Not everyone has GPS, so if your business has a physical location customers can visit, add a free Google map widget to your page. Website visitors can then just enter their address where they are at currently, and they’ll then get specific step by step directions to your establishment. This is like rolling out a long welcome mat to customers and showing them your business cares about their time.

14) Put your business hours up:

Many website visitors are looking to know just when you are open and when you are closed. They want to know this before they drop by or pick up the phone to call you. Consider what potential questions your customers may have in mind regarding your hours, and answer them in advance by having that information immediately available in an obvious place and manner they can access easily.

15) Make sure the homepage or landing page has your business phone number:

It should seem obvious that every website would have the business phone number on it, but a lot of websites actually neglect this. Others bury it or just relegate it to a contact page. Many website visitors only come looking for a phone number, so display it prominently on the first page they are likely to access. Good choices for placement include the footer or the top-right corner. Just make sure it is up there somewhere!

16) Have your call to action on each and every page:

Every single page of your website should be focused on getting your website visitors to do something. Maybe you’re selling an e-book, want them to register for your newsletter, make a reservation, sit and watch a video, or just look at your credentials. Whatever it is you want them to do, let the user know it on every single page. Website visitors aren’t looking to use their brains when surfing your page, so be it a link or a button, every page should have some indication what you want them to ultimately do.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to picking out an industrial computer.

When compared with regular PCS sold on the market, they are built to higher standards because they require customization based upon factors such as ease of integration, speed of processing, and the type of industry within which the computer will be used.

How To Select The Right Computer

Computers are an expensive purchase so it’s especially important to pick the right one. If you buy a computer that doesn’t have the right features or even one that’s too advanced, you will lose money because you’ll either have to replace it soon or you will pay too much in the beginning. Here are some good tips.

Benefits For Business

They’re used for a wide variety of tasks including safety applications, management of inventory, controlling machines, and factory automation. There are immediate benefits even though the initial investment can be steep due to the automation of tasks. This application reduces the cost of manual labor.

Wear And Tear On Industrial Computers

Industrial computers continually operate and may be subject to harsh environments. This type of use can be hard on them. Breakdowns can lead to losses in production so it’s important to get an on-site warranty in order to speed the repair process. However, there are steps you can take to protect yourself from digital breaches and to ensure minimal wear.

  • Position the computer in an area free from dust. If you can’t do this, then use a dust cover.

  • If the computer will be continually typed upon, it’s worth investing in a more rugged keyboard.

  • Place your computer in an area with cooler temperatures. If you can’t, then get a computer with temperature control built in it.

  • Use a service that can rack your server on quality mounting such as Chassis Plans.

  • In order to prevent digital breaches, make sure that your data is password protected and that the computer is continually monitored.

The industry group CompTIA, has a TechCareer Compass. This still-evolving tool can help you sort through all of the possibilities.

Learn HTML

Learning HTML, the language used to display web pages, is the first step you need to take if you want to move beyond browsing the internet. Information architects, technical writers, and programmers are expected to know HTML.

Write a Program

As a technology pro, programming is an essential skill. There are scores of programming languages that exist, such as Java, C++, Visual Basic and C#. 5 Main Benefits Of Automated Deployment

When it comes to manual deployment, there are a lot of cons, which is why you should make the switch to automated deployment. In fact, there are many benefits that automated deployment has to offer. If you want to know what some of these benefits are, then continue to read the rest of this article.

Less Errors And More Repeatable

Humans are prone to making errors, which is why manual deployments are prone to errors. There are important steps that must be followed in a release, and sometimes these steps can be missed or something may not be spotted. Incorrect versions of software may be shipped and sure you may recover from this, but there’s a chance you will be left feeling embarrassed.

Automated deployments are less error prone. When you have configured everything, the release will be the same every time it is initiated. It doesn’t matter if it’s the first time or the one-hundredth time, you can rest assure the process will be the same.

Anyone Can Deploy Software

Anyone on your team can deploy software, and usually when it comes to performing partially-automated deployments or manual deployments, a small number of people in the organization does it. This isn’t good because if one person is not in on a specific day or they are sick and take time off, then releasing can become a major hassle. Automated deployment takes away that stress because anyone can initiate a release.  This blog from Capita IT professional services makes for interesting reading.

Spend More Time Developing Software

Manual deployment is a task that takes up a lot of time, and developers and testers could be spending time working on software instead of working on deployment processes. However, automated deployment allows them to focus on other tasks, and deployments can be initiated within seconds. Engineers and developers should be able to focus on creating awesome software, and automated deployment allows them to do just that.

It’s Not A Headache

When it comes to deploying somewhere new, things can become a headache. At least that’s the case when it comes to manually doing it, but automated deployment allows the machines to be changed very easily. Plus, the overhead associated with deploying to a new environment or if you need to create something in a new installation, can be high. However, automated deployment allows you to save overhead and get things done more efficiently.

Release More Frequently

An automated deployment mechanism allows for a single deployment to take place, all without a high overhead. Best of all, a release process can be conducted frequently, with low overhead. This also allows for more agility when it comes to developing software.

Automated deployment allows teams to get feedback from their users on a more frequent basis, and it allows them to make changes to their approach. Feedback is important, and timely feedback is even more important. Remember, being able to implement changes as a result from feedback can mean a difference between a great product and a product that’s not so great.

Those are the top five benefits of automated deployment. There are many other benefits associated with automated deployment, but those are the main ones. If you want to experience those benefits, as well as many others, then you should stop doing manual releases and go automated. The sooner you go automated, the sooner you can experience the above benefits, and your organization will work in a much more efficient way.

Point-of-Sale System Basics for Retailers

For a retailer, the ka-ching of the cash register is a joyous sound. However, today’s cash register is not the same as the old cash registers from the past. Modern cash registers may be attached to a “point of sale’ system which is connected to your computer. Retailers prefer these systems to standard cash registers because they do much more than just ring up purchases. These cash registers can provide you with real-time data about your customers and inventory.

The core component of these systems is a standard issue computer with specialized POS software installed on it. You must also have a receipt printer and cash drawer. You may also have a credit card reader and bar code scanner. These systems are sold pre-configured by vendors with the ability to expand the system as your business’s needs grows. The cost for a typical setup is less than $1,500.

If you have a large inventory, then you will need to create SKU numbers for your stock. For example, a boutique clothing store may have thousands of SKU numbers for their products. Many shops have large inventories since some sell everything from cameras to cosmetics to bicycles. It can be difficult to keep track of the thousands of items a small business has in their inventory.

However, if you are able to keep track of the hard-to-find fast-selling items in your inventory and keep them in stock, you might have a competitive advantage over a larger competitor. So, how do you strike the balance?

A good POS system can help keep you alerted to low inventory items. Then you can determine when to re-order. When the time comes to re-order, some POS systems will let you know the most recent price you paid and the average price you paid in the past. These two prices can help you strike the best price deal with your suppliers. During your off-hours, you can run reports that show the inventory activity for the day, week, or month. If you need to view the big picture of your business, some systems allow you to track your annual inventory and compare it to last year. This can help you anticipate your inventory needs for the coming months.

Taking inventory is not only time consuming, but it is also labor-intensive. It’s also one of the most crucial tasks facing a store owner.

Too much stock and too little can cost your business money. U.S. retailers lost $224 billion due to surplus inventory, according to the National Retail Federation. Another $45 billion is lost by a lack of inventory in stock.

While your POS system may not be a replacement for a physical inventory count, it can help you reduce the number of times you complete this time-consuming but important task. And when it comes to doing a physical count, you can use a wireless portable scanner in combination with your POS system to reduce your work and save hours in the process. Here are some good tips for choosing one.

In addition to managing your inventory, a POS system can also help you determine who your best customers are and what they like to buy. You can have your customer’s purchase history available at the cash register. This can help a salesperson or business owner, alert the customer to new products or shipments. For example, a nursery owner might notify a customer who buys tea roses each year about a shipment of the flowers they have coming in. A camera store salesperson can alert a person interested in wildlife photography about a new high-speed camera lens that is ideal for capturing raptors in flight. An auto parts store cashier could use the barcode scanner on the POS system to answer a customer’s questions about the availability of a spare part.

It comes down to this: A well-run business needs to have a cash register that does more than just take in money. The right equipment you can have a strategic device center, a system that will help your business grow and keep your customers coming back. The ka-ching will keep coming.

By using an integrated, affordable POS system, a retailer with an annual revenue of $300,000 can cut their costs by as much as 10 percent, according to Intuit market research. That’s an annual saving of $30,000 per year. That’s a substantial return on your $1,500 investment. How can you not afford a POS system?

Shopping for the Right POS System

You have many options when shopping for a POS system. The price can range from hundreds of dollars to tens of thousands. The final decision can be difficult, so here are some guidelines you can use to make a decision.

Inventory is the most important. All POS systems are able to ring up purchases and track inventory. However, a good system will let you evaluate your inventory. You can set up alerts for items that are running low, quickly add new items as you receive them, account for back-ordered items and create purchase orders to be sent to vendors.

Weigh the systems ease-of-use against the functionality. The more complex your customer orders are, the more features your system should have. You also need to consider the time you will have to spend teaching your new employees to use the system and bring them up to speed. The best system offers a balance of both. Additionally, take maintenance into account. This page on Symbol maintenance gives an idea of what’s involved – needless to say maintenance depends on the specific system.

If you look for a system that can grow with your business’s needs. If you are working on a tight budget, then you can start with a basic POS system which is the software running on your PC with a drawer and receipt printer. Then, you can add to the system as needed, you may choose to add a bar code scanner or credit card scanner. Later you can add a pole display, inventory tag printer or PIN debit pad. By picking up a system that meets you need, you will eliminate the need to have someone set it up for you, which can add thousands to the system’s cost.

5 Tips for Selecting the Ideal Data Centre Firm

Choosing a colocation facility or a data center can be a huge undertaking for your business. This is because you will be entrusting the provider with all the crucial infrastructure aspects of your company. So, before you choose any data center, it is important to consider a couple of things, most of which are mentioned in this article. This post is not meant to be the definitive list of questions for every business out there, but it gives you an ideal starting point for choosing the right data center. So, what are the most important things to consider?

Location

There is where you start. The site of the collocation is one of the most important factors to consider, and that can be attributed to a couple of things. First, you need to consider the accessibility of the data center. How easy is someone from your company to reach its physical location? If you require upgrading your software or hardware, you will need to consider accessibility. How susceptible is the area to natural disasters such as fires, hurricanes, floods, and storms? Of course, this is something that a data center takes into consideration when setting up the facility, but it doesn’t hurt to take extra precaution.

Your business’ infrastructure is critical, and so, you need optimum performance and fewer interruptions within the data center. So, the less prone the area is to these disasters, the better. The ecosystem is something else you need to consider, but we shall take an in-depth look at that later. However, you need to ensure that there is adequate power and numerous fiber paths to and from the facility.

Reliability

This is another important thing to consider when choosing a data center. In regards to data centers, reliability can be measured in terms of up-time. A reliable provider will be up at least 99.9999% of the time. This can ideally be referred to as six 9s. Staff certification, on-site support and customer feedback should ideally give you an idea on the company’s reliability.

Flexibility and Scalability

If you think that your business will grow in the coming months or years, then you want to choose a colocation provider that will be able to meet your needs in regards to expansion suggests colocation provider Alternative Networks. Different data centers provide various levels of flexibility. Some will give you great solutions while others may not meet your requirements in the future. In addition to the standard offers, the company should provide more customized solutions, meaning they can address all your data storage and transfer needs. You will also want to consider the availability of additional storage space, connectivity, and power. The ability to scale is vital for any growing business, so don’t hinder your business with the expense of expanding with time.

The Network Ecosystem

The great thing about data centers is that they give you the ability to interconnect withing a shared space. So, if you are looking to connect with distributors, competitors or even partners for peering, this is certainly something to consider. So, before you make a choice, know more about the connectivity options the data center provides. Do they have a vast ecosystem of clients interconnecting with each other? Are they network neutral? Inquire about this before making your final decision.

Financial Stability

This is another important aspect you want to keep in mind. The last thing you want is investing in a data center that’s going to close in a few years. An ideal collocation facility should support you for at least five years or more. The financial history, press releases and financial reporting should give you an idea of how feasible the facility is.

Efficiency In Deployment

How fast do you want your systems up and running? Also, how quickly do you think you’ll need an extra rack space in the future? If you are like most businesses, you’ll want the new space set up as quickly as possible, and you want the infrastructure to be efficient. Efficiency in deployment can be hard to quantify, so make sure you communicate with the vendor regarding the timelines clearly.

Considering all these factors will certainly help you choose an ideal data center. If there are numerous colocation service providers in a particular area, that’s an indication that the region is quite hospitable, reliable and has excellent connectivity and power. Your only job will be to narrow down to the provider with the best package for your needs.

HITMAN 2016 REVIEW

From the home of IO interactive comes another high ranking game the “Hitman 2016“, IO has been known to make awesome Hitman games over the years, as with prior series we have seen a game that grows more complex by the minute with a variety of ways to carry out any given mission, also with a wide variety of locations to explore.

The new HITMAN game stays true to its purpose as the former series has always been, leaning on many core features of the previous releases fans adore, full of so many challenges and intrigues the gameplay will leave you totally immersed wanting more. The release of HITMAN 2016 has taken a totally different turn as opposed to its previous series, that is each release will be in an Episodic manner which is unusual for today’s AAA release. The game as of now has released three great episodes with locations in Paris, Sapienza, and marakesh with more to come in locations like thailand, the USA and japan scheduled to be released every month, though a full series is meant to be released at the year’s end. It comes in a variety of ways, gamers are firstly offered with the into-pack containing the prologue and paris mission though despite this just being a prologue and main story mission there is still alot of awesomeness for hitman game lovers to get immersed into, the gameplay is great and stealth is the major focus with numerous disguises to stay unnoticed. Also sandboxes has been added for you to creatively explore other assasination styles to take out your target, with an array of Agent 47’s weapons and assasination styles your first hand gaming needs are met.

The first episode kicks off in paris, a french fashion show, with great graphics Hitman is visually stunning and looks obviously more refined than the beta, with a lot of ways to take out your target, you are bound to feel like you are in a real life situation, with a great sound track comprising of thrilling techno beat kick at just the right moment. the map features some 300 stimulated NPC(non playable characters), the contract creators may decide to make any of them Agent 47’s target, this game can be purchased from G2A and you can use G2A discount code to avail discount.

Next is the italian coastal town of Sapienza and it is really less restrictive in its setup and instantly proves itself to be one of the best missions is the series, this episode depicits itself to gamers as an assassin’s playground, the level is actually broad comprising of a small town with various places you can take advantage of, with so much real life gaming in this episode you are sure to be totally stuck on it, with a larger playable space it takes longer for yoy to figure out everything in your head and that is what true gaming should be.

Over to Marakesh, a lively morrocan town with a possibilty of civil unrest, marakesh also gives gamers a more detailed locale to explore, with two main targets; a corrupt Swedish business man and a General planning a civil unrest to his own advantage. It could be the most challenging level with more time spent on planning how to take out your targets in the most discreet way, it feels more tense with more great murder styles and creative assasination techniques.

CONCLUSION

The great thing about Hitman games is the uniqueness of each level, though it now comes in an episodic nature, Fans are still expectant of what the forthcoming episodes has to offer and that builds anticipation which to me is a good sign. So lets keep our hopes high for the next episode to come and experience gaming at its best.
